Crypt Caving [Mission]

Janus got off work two days later in better shape, but still not her best. Her coat was freshly pressed and she tossed it on before heading out of the hotel and springs. She had given up on transportation considering she moved faster than what could be called normal for anything in this day and age and she turned on a song about running away.

From the porch of her hotel, she looked down the road leading down the hill into the city and decided she was going to race herself to see how fast she really was.

The diviner had chosen the final location simply based on distance, it was exactly five kilometers from her. The small cemetary that had caused her problems twice as she was manipualted by some outside force that hadn't said a peep since it let some random super powered human beat her senseless. She thought about that stupid snake oil salesman as she programmed a countdown into her phone. The phone ticked down from thirty, which was interesting cause she may as well have made the run that quick with a little luck but decided against it.

Now, Janus had never been a track star before she gained superpowers, but she did know that her movements were probably wrong and she probably should learn how to run effectively in the near future. So she was interested to try learning, if nothing else than to say she did and get on with her day.

Janus used her divination to make sure she took off right at the millisecond the timer started, rushing like a streak down the hill at top speed. She almost tripped once or twice but less than a minute later, she fell forward and bounced along the pavement at her destination right in front of the cemetery. She arrived, or really slammed into the scene right in the middle of a procession, which was a horribly bad thing and she probably should have focused on the location harder with her divination but she did pass too many people to know that anyway.

The young woman got up, a few people coming over to make sure she was okay and she looked around as the feeling of despair and gloom crept over her once again. Masked monsters just couldn't leave Janus the hell alone and she was getting really tired of it. She got up and avoided the people asking if she needed help as she tried to figure out where the thing would come from. She didn't find it because there were too many people but she did see someone walking towards an open crypt form the funeral which was a tad bit odd.

Janus started walking towards the crypt that the person had gone down and a few people made comments about her interrupting the funeral, but the hero didn't care in the slightest. Funerals were for the living, not the dead. She made her way over the crypt and looked inside, it went down and the feeling of gloom crept over her like a wave of cold water. Janus knew pretty much immediately that her divination was now screaming warnings of violence and combat and things that she didn't want to see or deal with.

Just like that, the diviner started walking down into the dark abyss. She made her way down quickly, knowing there was a human already heading directly into the belly of the proverbial inter-dimensional beast. HP Lovecraft be dammed, there were far too many of these bloody things she thought as she saw a future where she got hammered into the wall and ducked to narrowly avoid the foot of something that wanted to beat her senseless.

The fight didn't last long, maybe Janus was getting stronger, or maybe she was just lucky. The masked monster definately wasn't as strong as some of the things she had fought recently and she was able to get the right Janus the first time she pulled one to attack it Specifically, the sword Janus. Janus started to think as she was using her projections to trade blows with the masked monster that these things had a different measures of power which was why sometimes this was easy and sometimes this got her slammed into a crater.

The diviner struck a blow the mask and the masked monster dissipated, to which she simply began to look around for the body. She didn't see anything immediately until she turned her light on. Janus then used her path walking to search for the human before seeing it in her divination and hurling all over the crypt wall. Once again, too late, like she was being dragged along to someone else's tune.

Janus made her way out of the crypt, everything tasted bad and she wanted to go home. She hated the whole you can't save everyone thing, she was pretty sure it was bulls*** before the past couple of weeks. Janus remembered being ignorant and not trying to be a hero, but in the end it wasn't her. She wanted to save the world, or die trying. The oracle was getting pretty sure it was quickly going towards the later the more she thought that someone was manipulating her.

To save herself the hassle of whatever was going to happen because she had been seen she left from the other entrance to the crypt and started heading home. She felt horrible and and wanted to be rid of the feeling of guilt and annoyance, though she was sure it was going to stick around for a bit as she tried to figure out her next move.
