The Grid....

Janus was sitting on a bench at the park. She did so when she was thinking or doing things with her divination. She didn't even look down as a divination caught the cloaked figure who had been manipulating her the entire time. "Oh, it's you." The diviner stated as she looked at the person wearing the faceless armor and cloak.

The voice that came out wasn't determinable, it was female, but run through a weird modulator or something. "Don't sound thrilled." She stated back to Janus as Janus finally moved her head down to look at the figure.

"The last few times I've seen you, I got beat the hell up and robbed." Janus said in a rather indignant tone. The other figure showed no emotion behind the faceless mask before tossing a pair of boxes on the ground. She didn't seem to care what Janus said at all.

"Inside those boxes are some small canisters and a cross. You are going to learn how to use both." The figure stated staring at the young Diviner. Janus looked at her and her divination told her that asking a dumb question like Why was going to end in pain. So, instead, she reached to the end of the bench and opened the first box, which contained three small tubes.

Janus looked at the small canisters and rolled them between her fingers before staring at them. "Should I fill them up with water?" Janus asked the armored woman, who grabbed her face in her palm like Janus was a moron. It was obvious that the other woman knew enough about Janus to mock her constantly.

"You're the Oracle, figure it out." The woman stated in an annoyed manner. Janus looked at the canisters and tried to mimic random pop culture references, including but no limited too, fly web fly and even putting it between each hand and mocking the kamehameha. She didn't get it at all.

The woman rolled her eyes at Janus, like she was an idiot. Which, for all intents and purposes, she was.

Janus stopped and stared at the canisters, as if doing so would make them do something. They didn't do anything except sit in her vision. She was running out of ideas before she decided that she didn't need to think about trying stuff, she could try EVERYTHING. She stared at the canisters as she looked through thousands of futures of her toying with them and got nowhere. She couldn't figure it out after what she was sure was hours. She looked at her phone, it had actually been hours. The other woman simply sat at the end of the bench, relaxed.

"I'm doing this wrong aren't I?" She asked the other woman, who nodded her faceless armor, that was really creepy, Janus thought.

Janus decided that this wasn't working so she rubbed at her face and relaxed a bit. She came up with a different idea, Janus had always used the divination to look forward instead of backwards. Janus thought about it for a while, if she could just glimpse a future where she got them to do, whatever it was they did. It might be possible to essentially follow it back to Janus.

She spent the better part of another hour focusing on a future where she had them working, and finally managed to find one. What she hadn't realized was the amount of information her brain was collecting was damaging her physically. She rubbed her face and realized her nose was bleeding.

Though, it worked. She followed the future strand into it and realized the canisters couldn't be filled by her, they were filled by manipulating something in the air from other dimensions. She focujsed, ignoring her divination and trying to reach out and find these trans-dimensional particles. She spent another few hours trying to slowly fill up whatever the canister was and opened her eyes. The little indicator on the canister was lit, though dimly. The sun was now down and the faceless woman streched before walking away into the darkness.

"Keep at it Oracle, Ill be back when you figure them both out." She said as she walked from Janus and waved the back of her hand over her shoulder.

It took three days, three freaking days, before Janus had filled the first canister so the indicator was glowing brightly. Though she got the finer point of it, doing it in one place made it harder and so did doing it slowly. She figured there were probably places that had more particles. That was the most sound logic, for whatever logic could be applied to the supernatural. Janus took the time to test the theory by looking around for some low level monsters. As she thought, the more monster and dimensional activity there was, the more Janus could pull the weird particles from other dimensions into the canisters.

The second one took only two days to fill up. Which was a day shorter than the first. The cross, in the other case though, Janus still couldn't understand. She wasn't religious, after all.

The final canister took the shortest a few days later, she did have to do work. She kept practicing, but without spiritually active hot spots with inter-dimensional activity, there wasn't much of whatever particle things she was collecting. Just as she finished filling up the last vial the faceless statuette appeared again. "Does every inter-dimensional creature know how to teleport?!" Janus asked the faceless woman angrily. The weirder part was that the woman knew when Janus had finished. That was creeping her out to no end. Janus was used to knowing more about what was going to happen than anyone, except this person, obviously.

"RE-SHi." The faceless mask stated. "That's the common name for the particles that you collected inside those canisters. It's power, raw power from other dimensions. People like us don't use our own power to fight, we use other's so we have an infinite and limitless supply of it. You do it naturally now, that's why you're stronger, you take less damage when you get bounced off walls. I had my associate beat you up to force your body into defending itself with them without thinking about it." The faceless mask said as Janus looked at her.

Janus nodded at her, she wasn't sure how to respond to this manipulative twerp. She didn't like the statue of power that seemed to continue manipulating her forever. "And the Cross thing?" She asked the woman who didn't have to even look to know what she was going to ask about. It was weird, like the woman had the same power as Janus but different. It was almost mockingly annoying, like she was just a useless little fish that didn't know where to swim as the statue looked at the canisters.

"If you use the particles stored in the canisters, those crosses should activate. They cannot be used with your power." She said.

The statuette had left hours ago when Janus finally found the future she was looking for as she put on the bangles around her arm and reached one arm over the other and grabbed the small crosses. She popped open the small canisters as she pulled at the crosses and two large cams formed on each of her hands.

As her arm's moved apart, the Cams glowed a soft hue of blue and a bow made of glowing light began to form between them, a beautiful compound bow like she had summoned with one of her attacks before. The young woman stared blindly at the bow like it was something who's beauty could not be caputured before turning towards a tree and slowly pulling back on the string. The cams rotated and the bow legs bent, and Janus should have thought about what she was doing before releasing an arrow.

There was simply a hole in the tree, and the next dozen trees behind it. "Now we're talking." She said to no one in particular.
