Missions for this topic:

Kosuke had been hearing some strange goings on recently. From the strange sounds that he and the little boy had heard when he helped him, to the sounds he could hear at night penetrating the otherwise quiet town. It was enough to worry him, but also enough to make him curious. Though, usually it was pushed to the back of his mind as his health was still steadily failing him. If only he could do something to not be sick, he would be able to take care of his family like he always wanted to do, but never could due to his poor health.

It was on this particular morning that he was met with a compulsion, nay, an absolute NEED to go out and actually feel like he wasn't a burden to someone. He had a need to feel like he gave back to the world instead of just taking from it. So, he pulled on his jacket and set out. It was only when he got outside that he bumped into a man who had a rather glazed expression. At first, he passed it off as drugs or maybe alcohol but it was what he saw when the man walked past him that changed his mind.

When the man walked past, Kosuke saw some strange creature latched onto the back of his head. It seemed that this creature was controlling the man somehow, or at least making him less aware of his surroundings, but looking around, he could tell that no one else could see the creature. So, he decided to try and help the man, approaching and grabbing the mans shoulder, to get his attention. The man immediately turned to swing on him, but he managed to duck it. It seemed the creature was not one to let his prey get away so easily. But, once the attack missed the creature turned and kept moving in the way it had been before.

It would seem he would need to be more direct, consequences be damned. He steeled his resolve and leapt forwards, tackling the man to the ground, luckily there was no one else around. Grabbing the squishy thing he would rip it off the mans head, leaving him unconscious. He would then slam the little thing on the ground before stomping it into oblivion. That much jarring and excitement however left him in a good deal of pain, he would enter a minutes long coughing fit leaving him out of breath and doubled over. He needed to get this man to a hospital before it got dark.

Kosuke had finally gotten the man to the Hospital and stayed long enough to hear them diagnose him with simply drinking too much and passing out. Sighing, he would make his way out of the hospital to find that it had already gotten dark. He had no doubt that his parents would be worried about his absence so he decided to call home and tell them he had stopped by a friend's house to hang out for a while and he would be back later. His parents usually bought that, even though he didn't actually have any friends. But, it didn't matter.

As he walked home slowly, he came across a park bench and suddenly found himself struggling to breathe, sitting down a moment he was surprised, he always knew that one day his body would simply give out on him, but was today that day? Closing his eyes for a moment he would think about his own death, what had he accomplished in life? Would his family even miss him? Why was he even still alive to begin with? Why had they invested so much in keeping him around? What did he contribute to the family? To the community? To the world?

He shook his head, reminded of the spirits and even living he had aided throughout the time he was aware of their presence. Come to think of it, every time he wasn't totally bedridden, he was out and about helping people, if anything he DESERVED to live! He suddenly felt a little better, but he wasn't sure if it was his mental self-talk or a surge of adrenaline from sensing an unusually powerful pressure from around where he was. He couldn't tell what it was exactly, but it felt different than anything he had ever been able to sense before.

Looking around, he saw it, some form of massive jellyfish looking creature that was edging towards him. He couldn't tell what the beast was exactly other than a monster, but he could tell that it was the cause of this unbelievable pressure that he was feeling in the air. He decided that it was this beast that was to blame for the attack on the man earlier when he saw it spit out a smaller version of itself that floated towards him. He dodged it and then crushed it the same way he had the last one. The beast then rushed him itself, attempting to bash him with its head, however this would prove to be futile as he whispered harshly the name of his ability, "FULL COUNTER!" and with that, the beast was killed by its own attack.

Three days later, Kosuke was feeling better than he had in months. Whether it was from the battle with the mystery beast or his own pep talk to himself on that same night, but ever since then he had been feeling much better not only physically, but also spiritually, if that was possible. As he woke up on that third day, he decided to get dressed and go for another walk. He was feeling great and maybe he would even do some training and bettering himself. It wouldn't hurt one to train and increase their health through physical exercise.

He left his house and immediately entered a jogging pace, moving quickly through the sidewalks he then blurred out of sight and actually took to leaping across the rooftops before stopping in a construction site. It would be here that he could properly work on improving himself. From running around and practicing acrobatics, he could also lift some of the steel beams to practice increasing his strength or doing other such things to help improve himself, he could also work on the special powers he had developed as a kid. He worked on it sometimes when he could get a moment alone.

He started by doing some basic exercises, but was interrupted by someone approaching him. Turning, he saw a man with a large afro, sideburns and a moustache. The man was hairy and bulky, seemingly from being well built and strong. The man struck a rather cheesy pose before approaching Kosuke. "You seem to have a decent spiritual pressure about you! You have a long way to go before you can match me though! How about a quick spar to see how we line up!" The man seemed tough, but also a tad goofy, so Kosuke didn't exactly know how to react to him.

Before he could really say anything in regards to accepting or rejecting the mans offer, the man had leapt into action, rushing forward to deliver a straight haymaker at Kosuke's face. He dodged it and spun to be behind the man. It was obvious he was trained however as he reacted flawlessly attacking once more. This punch struck Kosuke directly in his chest, however the man was not expecting his own chest to feel double the impact, knocking him back hard and actually rendering him unconscious. Not really knowing what to do from there, he decided to simply leave the area and go home.
