A Glitch in the System [EVENT]

[Intro: characters who signed up for the event will have received an official looking message from a messenger, sealed with the Gotei seal. It will read as follows:

You have been selected to participate in a top secret experiment with the Captain of the Fifth Division, head of the Research and Development squad. The details of this mission are to be revealed once you are on site. This is a directive put into place by the Captain-Commander of the Gotei. Failure to comply will result in legal and potentially fatal action. Signed, Captain of Fifth Division and Captain-Commander.

Once you arrive to the lab, you will be escorted into a room, you will be prompted to sign some documents, which if you refuse, you will be asked to leave. Once you have signed, you will be led to a room deep underground and through a labyrinth like maze of hallways. You will then be placed on a table and strapped down. Once you are fully strapped in, you will find your Reiatsu sealed off and your strength sapped from you.]

[NOTE: Each participant will get THEIR OWN exam room. They will not know the others are there.]

Yato had been at his desk when he had received the news, so he decided he had better promptly respond since it looked to be an official letter signed by the Head Captain. Grabbing his white haori he would make his way to the Fifth Division's HQ where he would be met by one of their Shinigami who would lead him inside and then into an absolute maze of hallways in a below ground bunker of some sort. He had never been to the Fifth Division, so he was keeping mental notes of what he was seeing.

Once he arrived to some small room with a single table set up, he was instructed to sit on the table and then fill out some paperwork. It looked to be routine stuff about medical history, existing conditions and that sort of thing, so he quickly filled it out. He was then instructed to remove all but his hakama pants to be placed in a small cubby hole across the room. Tengetsu was also placed with his other belongings. They then instructed him to lie back while they prepped him, this involved quickly tying restraints around his body and then he felt it. All of his strength left him, all of his Reiatsu was sealed away. He could hardly move much less break the binds that held him. Something was wrong here. Horribly Wrong.

"Experiment lead by the Captain of the Fifth Division? Official Order of the Captain Commander?" This was such a strange and sudden request to take part of an experiment. Shouldn't there have been a meeting with all the Captains and Lieutenants discussing such an event before the notice was sent out? These were the thoughts that ran through Ragar's head as he stared at the seemingly forceful invitation. While he was a little annoyed at the summons he had no choice but to agree and participate in the experiment. While the Fifth Divisions Captain didn't have any say or sway into forcing them join, the Captain Commander did. If it weren't for legal action being taken against him for not attending he likely would have ignored such a summons...

It didn't take long for the purple haired Shinigami to reach the Fifth Divisions. It seems as if they had been expecting him specifically and didn't seem to speak much. They simply handed him a clip board as a sign in sheet and seemingly to say that he is actively participating. That too had been strange. Why did they have paperwork stating that the shinigami joining would be consenting to such an experiment. Especially when the Captain Commander himself ordered the participating shinigami to be here? Such a question truly had been bothering Ragar but he could not question the decision of the Commander. After all of the paperwork had been signed, Ragar finally made his way to what appeared to be a small testing room.

Whiles inside he did not think any further about the questions on his mind. His only wish would be to get this over with as soon as possible. He would simply place all his weapons and items, including his zanpaktuo on a holding tray before laying down on what appeared to be a table for experiments as instructed. That's when it begin... This would be a day that Ragar would never forget. Moments after laying down onto the table he would be forcefully strapped to the table as his Reaitsu and strength were forcefully sealed away. Even an average human soul could harm him at the moment. "What the hell is going on? Is there a need to do such a thing when you already had our consent? Did you really need to seal our strength away at this point?" A noticable sound of panic could be heard within a sea of anger leaking from Ragar's voice.  What the hell was the Fifth Division doing?

Once the subjects had been strapped in and sealed, a loud sound would come over the intercom in the three rooms. After a moment, a very slimy, serpentine sounding voice would come over it. "Thank you for volunteering for our super soldier program. You may have noticed that some things are strange, but I will go ahead and lay your suspicions to rest: This experiment is illegal and the letter you received was forged. Before you think about attempting to turn me in, please note that the papers you signed upon arrival were actually forged letters, admitting to your guilt in participating in illegal activity and pinning all the blame on the Captain of First Division, Yato Kurakawa. I suppose I should tell you about what you are participating in. I am in the process of achieving a higher level of evolution for Shinigami!"

Once he said that, a side door would open and a serpent like hollow would exit from it before moving to pierce each of the subjects in their chest, where their soul chain would be. This would be extremely painful for them, but will not kill them.

Yato was still yelling for the assistant to come back when the intercom message came on and he heard a voice he had only heard once before, the Captain of the Fifth Division, Akira Hatake. The man was an absolute snake and Yato certainly hadn't trusted the man. So when he heard his voice he knew that he had been duped. Listening to what he had to say, his rage grew more and more before hearing it was all blamed on him!? This bastard would PAY. His anger did not subside but continued to grow as the Hollow entered the room and stabbed him in his chest with its knifelike tail. He was in excruciating pain, but he was so angry it hardly registered. To think all the work he had put in to get to where he was that he was being kicked to the side like this. He would have his revenge. "I'LL KILL YOU!"

Laying on the table Travins demon was going crazy. While Travin was terrified he had only been a soul reaper for a few weeks and now he was going to be part of some illegal experiment that could get him killed. For the first time, Travin let his demon out willingly not wanting to experience what was going to happen. “Are fucking kidding me the one time that I don’t have to wait for you to get knocked out and I get to be experimented on. I’m telling you right now I’m going to kill everyone” his demon yelled as the hollow came in and stabbed him in the chest with its tail. The pain was so intense that Travin woke back up and took over as pain wracked his body. “I will kill everyone in the 5th squad if I have to, to find out who did this” he would say after the hollow pulled its tail out of him.

"YOU!" Pure rage was released from the shout of Ragar. All the information he had just received have been to much. Captain Hatake had seemingly betrayed the moral and ethical codes of the Soul Society. He even went so far as to forge the signature of the Commander and trap and implicate the First Division. "Akira how dare you target our First Division. If you go through with this plan and target Captain Kurakawa I will make sure I end you with my own hands! You from this point on stand against the side of pure justice, so you will forever be an enemy of I and the Soul Society." Ragar had been so enraged at the actions of the Fifth Division that he had completely been unaware of the Hollow that entered the room. It wasnt until the Hollow struck his chest and his soul chain that he finally realized it was even there. "ARGHHHH" A deep pain had invaded his soul and leaked into his entire body. A loud rage filled shout was all he could manage to do as he fought to struggle himself free. Despite this intense grueling pain he needed to keep his mind clear. He needed to escape and warn his Captain and even more so protect his friend.

Once the hollow had struck, a sound came over the intercom once more and the hollow retreated from whence it came as though trained. Then the voice of the captain would come back on, "I can see in the cameras that our experiment was a success! You all should be glad, the chances of your survival was actually only 2%! So you have beaten all the odds by living! With that, I bid you Adieu! My minion will be back in momentarily to wipe your memory and set you free, so feel free to hang around until then! Also, This mic only works one way, so I cannot hear what you're yelling." With that it would beep once more and he was gone.

Yato could feel his rage boiling over as he struggled against the restraint. It was at the moment he realized Ragar was likely to be dragged down as well after being personally requested to be his second in command, he would roar in anger as white liquid would pour from his mouth, eyes and ears, coating his face. His chest would cave into a hole above his heart and horns would grow over his head. He would let out a ghastly yell as his Reiatsu burst free and shattered the restraints and exploded from the room. For those that knew him, it would feel both familiar and totally foreign. The entire facility would explode in a way that would free the other two occupants and he would leap up, seemingly running on instinct. He was making his way to the gate to the human world.

Two percent?!?!? There chances of surviving this experiment were two percent? What a cruel and ruthless experiment with a low success rate. Despite such a low success rate Ragar had indeed survived. Along side the linger pain to his body and soul, he felt a strange and foreign power. This power infused itself into every fiber of his body and soul strengthening it as a bone like mask would cover his face and his once pure shinigami aura would fluctuate with the feeling of modified hollow like feel. But before the power would even stabilize the mask would fall off and his hollow infected aura would disappear. Ragar unconsciously suppressed the power of this change with pure will power. However the power did not go away it only lied dormant to be awoken whenever he needed it. Such a terrifying power was now inside him but he would never be able to use it. Such a power was forbidden in the Soul Society and if his will power wasn't so strong... He felt things would be disastrous if he didn't control that power.

But before he could even think further, as Captain Hatake said a attendant had come in and forcefully wiped his memories! It didn't take long for Ragar to reawaken in the strange room now aware of what all took place. Something he didn't forget or couldn't was the strange hollow like powers now inside him. "What the hell is this?" He would once again activate and deactivate the Vizard Mask and power. But before he could once again question what happened, a large explosion would blow up the building freeing him."What the hell is going on? What is a hollow doing here." Ragar would now stare into the sky as he saw a hollow like being running away. "You think you can just attack the Soul Society and leave? Get back here you fiend."

While Ragar still wasn't aware what we going on, he knew that the Hollow was involved. If he wanted answers he needed to stop that monster. But something was strange... Why did the aura of this Hollow feel so familiar? It was too similar to someone Ragar had known. Yes, this aura was almost identical to Yato Kurakawa the current Captain of the First Division. But that couldn't be right? He would put that though to the side as he used his shunpo to jump in front of the monster. "Stay behind!" Ragar would simply unsheath his blade as he slashed a horizontal strike straight down upon the monsters head. He needed to take down the beast and capture it. Only then he would have answers to the various questions in his mind...

As the beastly form of Yato exited the building, it would hold out its right hand, Tengetsu being summoned to it almost telepathically. The increased output of Reiatsu would only jump up as Tengetsu shifted to its Bankai state, unable to stay in its dormant form with so much Reiatsu coursing through it. Yato was running on total instinct as he made his way towards the gateway to the human realm. It was only his instincts and combat experience that allowed him to raise Kami Tengetsu to block the downward strike from his Lieutenant. He didn't have time to battle this annoying Shinigami, he needed to escape! He would roar a mighty roar as he charged up a red Cero in his mouth to fire at the one in front of him. He would release it immediately, aiming to blast into the annoyances chest. If he managed to get the Shinigami off his back, he would continue to make his way to the gate, it was in sight now.

Ragar was horrified as he saw the Zanpaktuo that blocked him. He knew this weapon all to well. "No... No way. Thats Tengetsu... You're... No it cant be..." Before Ragar could even get the words out he would notice a light in front of him from a charging Cero, "Shit!" Before the attack would fire, he would quickly activate his shikai. "Secure the Future, Masayoshi!" Within a blink of the eye the once singular sword would morph into two similar swords. The swords would become a long blade and a short blade. Ragar would grasp the two swords in his hand as he immediately activated the ability on the short blade. The short blade would further transform into a round shield that he would use to block the Cero attack just in time to avoid getting blasted. "Short Arm of Justice!" But because of how hasty the defense against the Cero had been, the shield would be flung from his left hand after the attack was guarded against.

Ragar stood shocked as he more closely felt the Reiatsu from the Cero that had just attacked him. There was no mistaking the feeling of this aura any longer. The calling and activation of the zanpaktuo's bankai state was further proof to reveal the hollows identity. It was Yato Kurakawa. "But...but how! No way that you're him. You can be! Ill slay you to find out what you did to my friend!" Ragar at this moment had fallen into complete denial. He didnt want to believe the identity of the Hollow in front of him. How could he? Even though he knew himself that such a thing could happen to him. He knew deep down that this was the product of allowing that hollow power within there soul to completely take over. But for some reason he could fully accept the outcome. Due to the shock of what he was seeing, he convinced himself that this monster attacked and took his friends powers. So he would continue to fight the beast until he himself fell.

"I WONT LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS!" It was then that he had decided to let go all of his remaining rationale and just fight to receive the answers he wanted. "RAIN OF JUSTICE!" Ragar would use his remaining long blades ability to extend and retract multiple times to fire twenty sword images of a powerful strength at this beast. This would so happen to coincide with the bakudo that aimed to slow the beast down for a few moments from the fellow shinigami fighting alongside him. At this moment Ragar had fully been letting his emotions cloud his judgement and guide him in this fight so he hadn't even noticed the other shinigami just yet.

Yato in his evolved state was still running on pure instinct. He had sensed the other Shinigami approaching and he could still feel another approaching from farther off. It was clear that the Captain-Commander himself was on the way, so he needed to get out of the Soul Society. But he couldn't while these two continued to attack him, so he used Shunpo to move several meters away, in an attempt to avoid both attacks. If he was successful, he would send a blast of white flames at the opposing Shinigami, if these flames struck them, they would find themselves coated in a layer of ice that was incredibly painful, and even when breaking out, they would find their speed lowered. He would then wave his blade again, sending a blast of pressure at them which would serve to destroy the ground between himself and them as well as to push them further away if it successfully hit. If they had no further attacks left against him, he would use his free hand to tear a literal hole in the air next to him, revealing pure blackness that he would step into before it closed and vanished.

Ragar while in his emotional state would not be able to use the tactics he could in his calm state. He would watch as his attack had been dodged before feeling a torrent of ice like power attack and slow his body. He would be unable to move while under the effects of this ice. He wouldn't even have been able to stop himself from falling into the ground of the cracked earth from the attack of the Hollow. As his body fell into the ground distinct tears could be seen flowing from his eyes. "Yato... What happened to us? Will you forever be like that? Dont worry my dear friend. I will find out who did this and make them pay." Ragar would then faint entering a deep state of unconscious, watching what he thought to be a hollow like state of his friend escape the Soul Society. The injuries to his body had been severe, taking a direct hit from the attack had causes a fair amount of damage. He would remain unconscious for a long time and he wasn't sure if anyone would be able to find him in the pit of darkness.
