Beginner: The lowest tier of skill one can posses in any area. Those in this classification are able to preform beginner level techniques. These are people who have only begun to grasp the basics of their powers.

Novice: These are people who are of a similar skill of an unseated Shinigami or others who are still grasping the foundations of their powers. They are able to learn and master up to Novice Techniques.

Adept: These are people who have reached a level on par with a seated member of the Gotei. They have a firm grasp on the basics and are moving on to much more intermediate skills. They are able to learn and master skills of up to Adept Level.

Expert: This level of character has reached the Lieutenant level of one in the Gotei. These people are able to learn much stronger techniques, and have a grasp on more advanced levels of their powers and abilities. They are able to learn and master up to Expert techniques.

Master: This is the level of someone with power similar to that of a Captain or a member of the Espada. These people are able to learn and master techniques of up to Master level!

Grand Master: This level is someone who has a power even higher than that of a Captain class Shinigami, someone who stands higher than even those considered elite in that particular skill. These people are able to learn and master the rare Grand Master techniques, they also gain a 2 post/20% discount on all Master and below techniques in this skill.

Zankensoki (斬拳走鬼, Cut-Fist-Run-Spirit): Basic fighting techniques. Zan refers to sword fighting techniques. Ken refers to unarmed fighting techniques. So refers to moving techniques. Ki refers to Reiatsu Techniques.

• Bukijutsu: The armed fighting style, using various weapons, the most common of which would be the Zanpakutō of Shinigami and Arrancar.
  
• Hakuda: An unarmed fighting technique that makes use of one's own body in a fight.
  
• Hohō: The name for all high-speed fighting movements based on the art of Shunpo.
  
• Reiatsu: Using ones spiritual energy as a technique such as Cero, Kido, and Spiritual Pressure.
  

To obtain Skill Points or, SP, one must simply level up. One will gain a grand total of 15 skill points through the course of their natural progression through the levels. This will allow you to get Two of the Four skills to maximum with the third skill left at the halfway point.
