Finding Potential Mission

Travin was walking through town having a little money in his pocket for once. He had managed to do a little work for some old people yesterday and made a little money. He figured that he would go into town and get everyone something good for dinner like fresh McDonalds or something. It was rare that his friends and he got to get food fresh. Most of the time it was out of date or stolen. Travin saw a strange man on the sidewalk looking around for something. Feeling helpful Travin stopped and asked the man if he needed help.

The man stood stright back up cane in his hand “well, of course, young man I’m looking for spirits to help pass on.” He almost yelled at Travin before letting out a goofy laugh. Do the world a favor and just kill this man already the voice in his head almost screamed at Travin. Tilting his head to the side “I can help you find some I know where they are” he would say trying to ignore the voice in his head. I’m telling you this guy is going to drive us crazier than we already kill him the demon would yell.

Travin leads the weird guy to the warehouse district. Where an old hospital used to be it had closed down some time ago do to a lack of maintenance on the building. The demon in Travins head kept giving more and more reasons to kill the man as they walked, and the more the man talked the more Travin was starting to believe the demon had the right ideal. “Well, there you go, everyone, stays away cause the ghosts like to scare everyone. You can find what you want in there.” Travin would turn to walk away when the man stopped him and gave him some money for help. Travin thanked him telling him that he didn’t have to do that, but the man wouldn’t take no for an answer. See I told you we didn’t need to kill him we got paid for that bit of nothing. Travin would tell his demon. Maybe but now he is free to annoy us again sometime his demon would replay.

Travin had seen the creature in the woods. After asking some of the local spirits about it he found out it was called a hollow, and that it was to blame for the random animal attacks in the woods. The town had closed the woods camping site off till the animal was found and dealt with and Travin thought it was a good idea. His demon however just wanted them to go and kill it wanting to know if they did kill it how much stronger they would become. Travin didn’t want to take the risk after all he had no death sentence and as long as everyone listened no one would get hurt. Sitting outside of a gas station drinking from the water fountain he saw a few people with camping gear. “Hay you guys know the camp sights all got closed cause of that animal killing people right” he would ask the strangers.

They all looked at him and brushed him off saying that it was fake news and that there was no animal that hunted people. Travins demon would laugh as they watched the group of people drive off in the direction of the campgrounds.

We got to help them Travin thought to his demon who just laughed let them die their idiots he would reply. Ignoring his demon Travin started that way to the campgrounds on foot it would take him a while to get there and he only hoped he would be able to make it before nightfall. He would run at his max speed the whole way their till he got the woods. Slowing down and turning to see the sun setting in the background. That’s not good he thought serves them right you warned them after all his demon would think back. Tilting his head to try and ignore his demon Travin took off at a slower pace this time into the woods. Knowing that the worse thing he could do is be tired and then get into a fight, so he kept at a pace that would not have him breathing hard when he got there.

The sun was down and the moon was up by the time Travin found the campers. He had been hearing sounds from the woods that was not from normal animals for the past few minutes. “You all need to get into your tents and stay there” he yelled out as he came into the light of the fire at the same time as the hollow. They all just stared at him as Travin spoke “Azazel’s Envy” and black flames shot up around his body.

The campers ran into the tent seeing Travin flame up. The hollow was huge compared to Travin it had been eating a lot better to it looked like. The hollow mouth was big enough that Travin could almost fit his entire head inside of the dog’s mouth. He noticed it while the dog was standing eye level with him on all four. Travin created two fireballs real quick and threw one at the dog but it dodged it and started to come at Travin. He threw their other fireball as the dog closed in, but the dog simply sidestepped it. Dam its to quick he thought to himself. You had better not get us killed his demon yelled at him. Before he could make another fireball the dog hollow was within reach and landed a massive claw into Travins guts. It was the most pain he had ever felt in his life. To the point that Travin blacked out. “HaHaHa NOW ITS MY TURN FINALLY” he would yell out as the demon took over. Bleeding from his gut and possibly things falling out of his gut. Travin would stand back up and cover his entire body in black flames as two flaming spirals formed in front of him. “Try dodging this pouch” he yelled out as the flaming spirals combined and spit out a high-speed fireball that connected with the hollow dog.

Travin would quickly fall back to the ground his power spent and his flames fading away quickly. He could tell that it did the job and the hollow was no more.

His body too weak to move from the blood loss and his internal organs laying in the woods beside him. All Travin could do was wait to die. Look what you have done now if you would just let me do all the fighting we would not be dying right now his demon would yell into his head. We saved the people Travin thought back to his demon.

Do you honestly think I give two shits for those dumb asses? We should have let them get eaten his demon would complain. The complaining would continue till Travins brain stopped functioning. He could see a light in the distance turning to see his body lying there in the woods Travin would continue into the light. With any luck, you won’t be able to follow me this way he gave one last thought to his demon. His demon just laughed at him as he flew up.
